Cannons in State Historical Museum of Iowa
The State Historical Museum has 3 cannons. They may be on display or in storage, depending upon the Museum exhibit. These include a 12 pounder bronze Napoleon, M1857, cast at Revere Copper Co. in 1863 and an 8 inch siege mortar, M1861. The other cannon was used by John Brown to train his supporters in Springdale in Cedar County. This is a possible Ellsworth cannon. The Museum is at 600 East Locust west of the State Capital.
