Cemetery Monument
This is a 12 foot granite monument dedicated to soldiers of the Civil War, Spanish-American War and WWI. It was dedicated in 1927. There is a bronze plaque on the lower part of the monument for WWI veterans. The old photo shows that it formerly had an eagle on top of the monument which, unfortunately, is missing today. This is in Rose Hill Cemetery in the north part of town. Follow 5th Street north to the cemetery. The monument is located near a large mausoleum not far from the entrance. The first photo was taken 12/17/07 - the second photo from the back of the monument was taken 5/9/18.
