Rodman Cannons in Weed Park
There are two 10 inch Rodman guns, M1861 in Weed Park. One was cast at Fort Pitt Foundry in 1866 and the other at Seyfert, McManus & Co. of Reading, PA. in 1864. These are very large cannons each weighing about 15,000 pounds. There is also a bronze Gettysburg Address plaque nearby. Weed Park is a very nice park in the residential area. Take Park Drive off Highway 22. The cannons are to the right just past the entrance. Photos taken 1/9/07.
