Soldier Monument
This is a 40 foot granite monument with bronze and metallic plaques. It was dedicated in 1890. The names of about 750 Civil War veterans from the county are on plaques around the monument. Each side shows a Civil War battle - Shiloh, Vicksburg, Chickamauga, and Gettysburg. It is located on the SE corner of the Courthouse Square in Toledo. The first photo was taken 8/27/12 - the second one on 7/13/19. Also included in an old undated postcard of the monument and courthouse sent by Danny Krock.
