Dog Tent Memorial
This unique memorial/tombstone is similar in dimension to the Civil War "dog tent." A canteen and knapsack are hung over the front. Captain William W. Ellis, a member of the 8th Pennsylvania and 61st Pennsylvania Infantry Regiments, is buried here. He served first in the 8th PA, a 90 day regiment. He then joined the 61st after completing his first enlistment. He died September 16, 1903. The cemetery is in the NE part of town - take 5th Avenue north. The location is in the west central part of the cemetery. Photo taken 5/2/08.
