Cannon at Cemetery
This Civil War cannon is a 24 pounder flank howitzer, M1844, cast at Cyrus Alger & Co. in 1863. It weighs 1479 pounds and is the 319th cannon of this make manufactured. It is securely mounted in brick at the cemetery entrance. It is the centerpiece of an attractive Veterans Memorial. The location is in the north part of town off N Broadway Street.
