Mountain Howitzers at Lisbon History Center
There are four 12 pounder bronze mountain howitzers, M1835, located in the History Center. Two of the howitzers were cast at Cyrus Alger & Co. in 1853 - the other two at the Ames Manufacturing Co. in 1863. They were originally purchased for $108 in 1916 and were part of the Gettysburg boulder monument in the Lisbon Cemetery. These small cannons are now on display in the History Center. The item on the right in the photo is a "chickenkiller." The History Center is located in the business district at 102 East Main. Photo taken 3/24/08.
