Plaque Honoring William P. Allred
At the entrance to the Prairie Trails Museum in Corydon is a plaque honoring William P. Allred, a member of the 46th Iowa Infantry Regiment. Also shown is a photo of him, at 92 years old, as the oldest drummer boy. At this time he is the national president of the Association of Civil War Musicians. With 12 year old Buddy Kelley, the oldest and youngest members of the Association are from Corydon.

Prairie Trails is an outstanding museum. It has some Civil War artifacts in the military exhibits. It is at 515 E. Jefferson St. on the east side of town off Highway 2. Photos taken 6/5/09.
