Sgt. Edgar Bras (1841-1923) of the 8th Iowa Infantry was wounded at Shiloh and Corinth. He was awarded the Medal of Honor for capturing the enemy flag at the Spanish Fort at Mobile, Alabama on April 8, 1865. He was from Jefferson County in Iowa - after the War, he farmed in several states including Florida. He is buried in Evergreen Cemetery in Ft. Lauderdale.
