Last Soldier Robert Killen Memorial
Robert Killen and William Humphreys were the last two Civil War Soldiers in Lucas County. Both died on January 25, 1941 and both are being recognized as the last soldier. Robert Killen was a member of Company F, 37th Kentucky Infantry Regiment. SUVCW member Mike Rowley led a ceremony on August 23, 2014 to place a plaque at Robert Killen's gravesite at Graceland Cemetery in Otter Creek Township in Lucas County. The photo shows Mike Rowley, Killen grandson's Jerry Marker and Larry Marker and relative Mary Sandy. Graceland Cemetery is a small well kept country cemetery - take 570th Street east off Highway 65 - then turn south at 150th Avenue. Photos taken 8/23/14.
