Last Soldier Hiram Finley
Corporal Hiram Finley (1841-1943) was the last living soldier of Montgomery County. He was age 101 at his death. He served in Company A, 14th Iowa Infantry. There was a ceremony to honor Corporal Finley and place a marker on October 15, 2017 conducted by members of the SUVCW Kinsman Camp. The gravesite is in Evergreen Cemetery on the east side of town - take 8th Street south off Highway 34. The grave is NW of the Soldier's monument. Photos taken 10/15/17.
