Civil War Monument
This monument in the Blanchard Cemetery was erected by the Blanchard GAR Post No. 260. This GAR Post was organized in South Blanchard, Missouri - just across the border. It is dedicated to the "Unknown Dead 61-65" which is inscribed on both the west and east sides of the monument. As shown, it is in need of repair. Thanks to Mike Carr for information and notification. Mike and members of the SUVCW hope to work with local residents to restore the monument. It is located in the NW corner of the Cemetery with many large shade trees. There is a near-by WWI memorial. Take Hackberry Ave. south off Highway 2 to 310th St. - then east to J Ave. - then south to the Cemetery. Photo taken 6/29/18.
