Last Soldier Francis M. Isenhart
Private Francis Isenhart (1841-1938) was the last living soldier of Iowa County. He served in Company C, 75th Illinois Infantry Regiment. Dan and Mary Rittel placed the marker honoring him as the Last Soldier of the County on 6/30/18. Thanks to them for the photo and information. Dan is pictured in the photo. The burial is in the Victor Memorial Cemetery (also known as IOOF Cemetery) - it is on the SE side of town and off V38 coming into town from the south.
