Last Soldier Charles H. Lingenfelter
Private Charles Lingenfelter (1841-1945) was the last living soldier of Humboldt County. He was buried in Clayton County and is listed under both counties. He served in Company D, 23rd Wisconsin Infantry Regiment. Private Lingenfelter, age 103, was buried in County Corners Cemetery in Cass Township in the SW corner of Clayton County. This cemetery is located SW of Strawberry Point off Hwy 410. Thank you to Danny Krock for placing the Last Soldier Marker on September 1, 2019 and providing the photo.
