Last Soldier Theodore S. Baker
Private Theodore S. Baker (1846-1942) was the last living soldier of Monona County. He served in Company G, 22nd Iowa Infantry Regiment. He is buried in Belvidere Cemetery located on Highway 37 about one mile east of Turin. Thank you to Roy Linn for placing the marker and providing photos taken August 29, 2022. It should be noted that we previously listed Marion Morgan, who died in 1940, as the last soldier but new information was received that Private Baker was actually the last soldier.
