Cannon at Cemetery
This Civil War cannon is a 24 pounder flank howitzer, M1844, cast at Cyrus Alger & Co. in 1863. It is securely mounted in brick at the cemetery entrance. Since my last visit in 2008, the black granite Veterans Monuments and flags have been added around the cannon to make a wonderful memorial. The location is in the north part of town off N Broadway Street. Photos taken 9/3/10.
