Medal of Honor Recipient Edward J. Bebb
Private Edward Bebb was a member of Company D, 4th Iowa Cavalry. He was awarded the Congressional Medal of Honor for capturing the enemy flag at Columbus, Georgia on April 16, 1865. His medal is on display at the Gold Star Museum at Camp Dodge in Johnston. His burial site is at New Salem Cemetery located two miles south of Lynnville on county road T38.
