Civil War Monument at Hickory Grove Cemetery
This is a 12 foot marble monument with the names of 17 soldiers inscribed around the base. The inscription reads, "Erected June 1870 by the Soldiers and Citizens of Marion Town Ship in Memory of their fallen Brothers." Hickory Grove Cemetery is located several miles north of Mt. Pleasant off Hwy. 218/27. It is visible from the road on the right side when driving north. It is on 185th Street. Thank you to Pat Ryan White for notification of this monument.
